Remember, remember!
The fifth of November*,
The Gunpowder treason and plot,
I know of no reason,
Why the Gunpowder treason,
Should ever be forgot!
'Cause it was an early false flag,
of which there has since been a lot!
"What was the Gunpowder Plot? The Traditional Story Tested by Original Evidence" (1897) by John Gerard
The traditional narrative states that a small band of renegade Catholics sought to blow up the House of Lords and kill King James during the “State Opening of Parliament”, they hoped this would spark an insurrection which would lead to the restoration of a Catholic Monarchy to the English throne.
This book suggests that “The Plot” was in fact a fake plot being run by the Secret Service to generate public sympathy for the Rulers who were subjugating them.
Apparently, Robert Catesby, was the leader of “The Plot”, he was involved in the earlier Essex Plot of 1601 and although the others involved were allegedly executed, including the Earl of Essex himself, Catesby was simply fined (O.K. the fine was the equivalent of millions of pounds sterling). It is said that Thomas Tresham paid most of this fine for him. Tresham was an extremely wealthy Catholic, knighted by the Anglican Queen Elizabeth 1st, a close friend of the Lord Chancellor Hatton and the Secretary of State AND most likely the funder of these two “Plots”
I live near Holbech House where “The Plotters” were arrested before been taken to the Tower of London and tortured, so I find all of this “Spy versus Spy” stuff fascinating.
The book is a cracking read and makes a good case for the “Deep State” subterfuge that made a dupe (or patsy) out of Guido/Guy Fawkes A quote from the introduction; "We have now for so long a period been accustomed to accept the official story regarding the Gunpowder Plot, that most will be surprised to hear that at the time of its occurrence, and for more than a century afterwards, there were many intelligent men who took for granted that in some way or other the actual conspirators were but the dupes and instruments of more crafty men than themselves, and in their enterprise unwittingly played the game of ministers of State.
There are arguments, which deserve consideration, suggesting that the Plot was actually set up by the secret instigation of those who designed to make it serve their ends, as in fact it did. For our purpose, however, it will be enough to show that, whatever its origin, the conspiracy was known to those in power, who, playing with their infatuated dupes, allowed them to go on with their scheme, till the moment came to strike with full effect; thus impressing the nation with a profound sense of its marvellous deliverance, and winning its confidence for those to whose vigilance and sagacity alone that deliverance appeared due.
The evidence available to us appears to establish principally two points;
1/ That the true history of the Gunpowder Plot** is now known to no man, and that the history commonly received is certainly untrue.
2/ It is unquestionable that the government consistently falsified the story and the evidence as presented to the world, and that the points upon which they most insisted, prove upon examination to be the most doubtful."

* According to Wiki the book is a conspiracy theory (sarcastic rolling eyes emoji).
After reading Andy‘s superb publication, it‘s clear the real fireworks are hidden beneath the official Guy Fawkes narrative. While they'd have us believe it was just one man‘s damp squib of a plot, Andy reveals a whole pyrotechnic display of intrigue, packed with explosive twists and smokey misdirections. It seems the true BANG here was the one they tried so hard to keep under wraps.
There’s more to it from my understanding. Guido/Guy Fawkes was a Jesuit (the Vatican’s Secret Society of Mafia-like plotters and troublemakers) and the attack was an attempt by the Roman Catholic Church to halt the King James translation of the Bible, the impact of which the Vatican was deeply concerned about. Multiple people had already been targeted and some killed who were involved in smuggling the Greek and Hebrew Bibles to England and who were involved in the translation, including Coverdale and Tyndale, whose translations were also used to write the KJV.
There’s a fascinating three-part documentary titled ‘A Lamp in the Dark’ about the history of the authorised KJV that has changed my understanding of the Bible and European history completely. Highly recommended.
